Facebook ditches built-in MP3 player
InsiderFacebook reports that social media Facebook has given up the ability to play MP3 music using the built-in Music Player app. According to a blog post, page administrators of the popular social service have been notified that the feature will end on October 31st. Users were also advised to post such materials on various third-party services.
But in the near future, Facebook promises to present “better ways” to place music on their pages. Observers have suggested that the message from the administration of the social service is about streaming services, but this information has not yet been officially confirmed.
An interesting fact is that at the recently held F8 conference, which was dedicated to the development of Facebook, it was announced that it had entered into partnership agreements between the social network and the music services Rdio and Spotify, as well as a number of other services. This is what can be counted among the indirect confirmations of the assumptions of journalists.
